Coast or mountain village?
The first choice is coast or height. Most visitors stay on the coast of Mijas Costa, close to the beach, restaurants and amenities. Mijas Pueblo, the white mountain village, is full of charm but has less accommodation and you need a car for the beach. For a beach holiday choose the coast; for peace and views, the village.

The coastal areas: La Cala, Riviera del Sol, Calahonda
On the coast you have a few excellent bases. La Cala de Mijas is the liveliest, with a beach, promenade and most things within walking distance, ideal without a car. Riviera del Sol and Calahonda are quieter and more residential, perfect for comfort and space with beach and golf around the corner.
